‘Pokemon’ News: New Character Revealed; First Ever Fire and Water Type Pokemon

A brand new Pokemon character is coming its way in the video game. This is the first time that a fire and water type of Pokemon has been created, and the company calls it Volcanion.

According to Techno Buffalo, The Pokémon Company together with Nintendo has announced a brand new character for its video game series. The new character is a combination of water and fire type called Volcanion.

Report states that Volcanion is a Pokémon character that "uses fire and water to create steam within its body, expelling explosive shock waves and scalding steam from the arms on its back." However, it has not been explained what it actually does in an actual gameplay including which specific Pokémon video game series it will appear.

As noted from the press release, there was no specific mention of the game series. But the site suggests Volcanion can't be found during normal gameplay. However, there is a big possibility that Volcanion "will appear in Pokemon Omega Ruby, Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, Pokemon X and Y."

Kotaku reports that Volcanion maybe the first-ever dual Fire and Water-type Pokémon, but this is not the first time that fans would heard its name. If recalled over two years ago, information about this new character had already been leaked.

It had been reported that some hackers came upon "the unnatural combination of opposing forces by thumbing through the code for "Pokémon X and Y" in 2013. Last year, these people also discovered about Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Pokémon Omega Ruby. Thus, many fans have learned almost everything about Volcanion.

Here is the full details of the announcement that's been released by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo: "Unlike any other Pokémon, Volcanion is both Fire- and Water- type. This Pokémon uses fire and water to create steam within its body, expelling explosive shock waves and scalding steam from the arms on its back. Volcanion's power is said to be so great it can destroy an entire mountain, gouging out the earth and changing the shape of the land!"

Aside from the official announcement mentioned above, The Pokémon Company encourages the fans to watch out for more information.
