In a previous report, the "Minecraft" for Wii U listing in Pan European Game Information (PEGI) page was allegedly removed following the November Nintendo Direct. Many fans of both Minecraft and Nintendo Wii U were disappointed the Wii U was the last platform that the super popular game has yet to cover. But not all hopes were gone as "Minecraft: Story Mode" was reportedly confirmed for release on Wii U
According to Forbes, Minecraft has long been available on Windows, OS X, Linux, iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, PS Vita and even Raspberry Pi. Finally it is coming very, very soon to Nintendo Wii U and the targeted date of release is on Dec 17 which coincides with the release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
It will be the first time that a Microsoft own product will be adapted on a Nintendo System. On the other hand, according to Forbes, a "Minecraft" for Wii U version has come a little late with the possibility of the Wii U being replace by NX in the very near future. Hopefully, there would be a "Minecraft" for NX version ready by the time the NX has arrived.
Nevertheless Microsoft is excited that Minecraft will be coming to the Nintendo Wii U and has made the announcement via Twitter and their official blog. According to the blog, the "
Minecraft" will be available at $29.99 in North America and will come with both Battle and Beasts skin packs, the Natural texture pack, the Festive texture pack, the City texture pack and the Fantasy texture pack.
The Minecraft Wii U version will also have GamePad controller's screen support on the Nintendo system and-split screen play. It was also noted that all the other version of Minecraft will support four local players and accommodate up to eight players online.
