Bungie Confirms Destiny Iron Banner Will Be Back on Dec. 29 with New Rewards

Bungie, a subsidiary of Blizzard Entertainment, confirmed on Twitter that the Iron Banner will be back on Dec. 29 after the conclusion of Sparrow Racing.

According to Softpedia, Blizzard is busy working to make sure that Destiny's second year offers a lot of content for the fans of the game to experience.

The studio explains that the gamers will be able to get into PVP battles as soon as the currently running Sparrow Racing League ends. They also announced that the new installment of the Iron Banner will introduce a range of new rewards. However, no single detail is offered yet.

The Iron Banner is probably the most competitive aspect of the shooter, with teams of players trying to out- power each other using their skills and equipping the most powerful gear available to boost their Light level.

There will be some rule changes to be announced before Dec. 29 as Bungie has been tweaking the mode for each new installment.

On the other hand, the rest of Bungie's tweet was questionable, according to Game Rant. It seems that the tweet is just simply to promote the return of Lord Saladin while stating that anything about gear announcements was going to come later.

Perhaps, the ambiguity started from the fact that Bungie divulged information regarding the iteration of the Iron Banner already a few weeks ago, when Bungie declared a slew of Play Station exclusive content for Destiny Year 2.

The announcement was made at the recent Play Station Experience, where Sony's Adam Boyes implied that even Iron Banner events would have PS exclusive content. While the presentation about the exclusives was not as clear as viewers might have preferred, it shows that PS Destiny players will have access to a second set of Iron Banner gear.

Overall, the important message from the announcement is that Iron Banner will be returning sooner rather than later.
