‘Downton Abbey’ Star Michelle Dockery Sings One Last Time for Fiancé, John Dineen During His Funeral Service

"Downton Abbey" star Michelle Dockery bid goodbye to her fiancé John Dineen in her most heartbreaking tribute.

Dineen's funeral was held on Wednesday night, Dec. 15, at St. James Church in Ballinora, Cork, Ireland -- a place close to where he grew up. The financial PR was laid to rest just a day before his 35th birthday, People reported.

Before that, a funeral service was held where his loving fiancée, Dockery professed her love for him and sang to him a song close to their hearts.

"I was honored to know John, to love him and be loved by him," the English actress said. She then added, "He was my friend, my king, my hero, my everything. We celebrate him, we honor him and we will miss him."

The "Downton Abbey" star described the love of her life as a legendary charmer who could let people do his bidding in the subtlest of ways. Dockery said, his 34-year-old fiancé had an electric presence every time he entered a room. She also shared how Dineen had "a wicked sense of humor."

Aside from the emotional tribute, the 34-year-old actress also sang her beau's favorite song, the 1937's standard "The Folks Who Lived on the Hill, according to Vanity Fair. Dockery was said to be initially apprehensive about singing during the service but Dineen's father persuaded her to.

Dockery and Dineen started dating in September of 2013. According to the actress, they were introduced to each other by Allen Leech, her co-star in "Downton Abbey." The two had been inseparable ever since and had kept their relationship low-key.

Early this year, Dineen was diagnosed with cancer. In the past few weeks before his passing, the Irish lad was admitted in a hospice in Ireland where he was being treated for his illness.

Dockery, on the other hand, travelled to the U.S. earlier this month to promote the final season of "Downton Abbey" but the actress cut her trip short to be with her man on his final days.
