The Charlotte Hornets are pushing their way in the Eastern Conference. But with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist out for the season, they may need to make trades to strengthen their playoff chances, and Joakim Noah is the one they want to acquire.
MKG is a vital player for the Charlotte Hornets. Unfortunately, he got injured and was announced out for the season. But the Hornets are a legitimate contender as they are currently sixth in the competitive Eastern Conference, with only 2.5 games behind the no. 1 Cleveland Cavaliers, Yibada reported.
The team is also ranked no. 7 in the latest edition of ESPN's Power Rankings, above the Chicago Bulls, LA Clippers and Atlanta Hawks, who were expected to be title contenders.
It was anticipated early this season that the Charlotte Hornets would possibly make trades for their future because this season is "lost." Michael Jordan's team is actually close to be competing in the playoff, and with this, they need to trade for Noah.
According to Hornets' site At the Hive, Noah is the perfect guy for the team to play 4 in 1 out. He is an impressive rebounder and shot blocker. He can pass from the high post and handles great. He was two times All-Star and was fourth in MVP balloting two years ago. He was the Kia Defensive Player of 2014. Yet, the Chicago Bulls have shown no signs of wanting to keep or extend him.
Hornets' current center, Al Jefferson is currently on a five-game suspension. Once he returns, he can be traded to the Chicago Bulls for Noah as they have matching contracts, both of which are expiring. Still, the Bulls may need to ask more assets and the Hornets may take a chance in giving them a first or second round pick.
