"Fashion Police" is retaining Margaret Cho as one of its main hosts, after months of negotiations. The 46-year-old comedienne has been pinch-hitting for the talk show this year, and Radar Online reported that her funny one-liners are a hit among the audience.
"The episodes that Margaret appeared on so far had much higher ratings than the ones without her," an insider revealed. "The producers of the show realized that, without Margaret, the show would be doomed."
According to the report, "Fashion Police" producers offered the permanent position to Cho months ago, but the comedienne smartly haggled her way through.
"Margaret wanted more money than they had initially offered her and, in the end, she got what she wanted. She is now making just as much as the rest of them," the source said.
Reportedly, Cho's paycheck is now in six figures, same as Giulianna Rancic, one of the show's frontrunners. Is there jealousy between them? Cho immediately took to Twitter to clear the air.
"This is untrue. I make $5000 per episode - which is a LOT I think. But it ain't 6 figures!" she wrote, adding that she's "grateful" for what she's getting.
Meanwhile, Perez Hilton noted that another recurring guest host, NeNe Leakes, has not been retained as a permanent panelist. Could this open another drama inside the show?
"Fashion Police" has had quite an unstable history recently, with Joan Rivers' tragic death in 2014. In February 2015, Kelly Osbourne announced her exit after airing her disgust over Rancic's supposedly inappropriate comments about singer Zendaya. A month later, Cathy Griffin also left the show, stating that her style of humor did not fit well with the talk show's creative direction.
"Fashion Police" also stars Melissa Rivers and Brad Goreski.
