Nike Unveils Kobe 11 Footwear; 'Achilles Heel' Features Flyknit Technology, Pearlescent Fibers to Offer Lightweight, Outstanding Cushioning

Kobe 11, the latest signature footwear of NBA Superstar Kobe Bryant from Nike, has been unveiled. The Kobe 11 from Nike features the Flyknit technology used by the company in their former signature design.

But as Nike has explained, the latest design has pearlescent fibers, which were created from thermoplastic polyurethane. A premium support is provided by the improved upper part, while breathability feature has been upgraded as well by a mesh tongue fabrication. A feeling of lightweight and outstanding cushioning are also among the offers of this new design.

Meantime, Nike designer Eric Avar announced that the Kobe 11 is going to be the last on court signature of Kobe Bryant since the L.A. Lakers superstar has revealed his retirement following the current NBA season. Kobe 11 is scheduled to be released on Jan. 9, 2016 in the "Achilles' Heel" edition - officially known as the Metallic Black-Gold/University Metallic/Red color scheme of the shoe.

In Kobe 11 "Achilles' Heel" edition, the red-based upper part along with black hints is featured including the heel and tongue part. It  has a black Nike swoosh as well and the Mamba logo in metallic gold on the tongue. According to Nike, The design has been inspired by the Greek God Achilles as well as the surgery underwent by Bryant. Achilles has been known to be invulnerable in all the parts of his body, except the heels, and the hero's eventual death was caused by an arrow that struck his weakest point while on the Trojan War.

Kobe 11's Achilles Heel designs will characterize the graphic presentation of Achilles on the right heel and the four stitches on the left heel will portray the four feet thread which was used in the Achilles surgery by Kobe Bryant in 2013.

Kobe 11 "Achilles' Heel" is available for the price of $200. More color variants are expected to arrive in the succeeding weeks, reported Latin Post.
