'Downton Abbey' Christmas Special 2015 Spoilers: Mary Reconciles with Sister; Edith, Bertie Tying the Knot?

"Downton Abbey," the United Kingdom's most popular and top-rated drama will be airing its series finale after six seasons.

According to its cast members, viewers will be expecting a very emotional, two-hour Christmas Special. It is going to tie up loose ends and avid viewers will definitely be satisfied with the ending. Jim Carter, the actor who plays the character of Mr. Carson said that the Christmas Special finale will wreck the fans but not in a horrible way. But he is sure that viewers will be in tears. He also said that the ending is really beautiful.

The "Downton Abbey" Christmas Special will span five months starting from July 25 to Dec. 25, 1925. According to Ecumenical News, Mary will try to reconcile with her sister Edith after she told Bertie about Edith's biological daughter, Marigold.

In spite of everything that happened, it seems that Edith will still have a happy ending. According to Express, the cast and crew filmed a wedding scene for the upcoming episode. Therefore, the wedding of Edith and Bertie is more likely to happen, especially since Bertie's mother Mirada, a character played by Patricia Hodge, will be introduced.

Since Mary is already married to Henry, he will try his best to adjust and be a good husband as well as a stepfather. However, he will seem to encounter a big challenge in adjusting. Henry will also eventually come to terms with Charlie's horrible death.

In "Downton Abbey" Christmas finale, Carson faces several trials as well, especially after he realized that he is not invincible to change and should adapt with the modern world. Meanwhile, Bates and Anna's big day will arrive but it will go through a number of challenges and twists before they can get their happy ending.

"Downton Abbey" final episode will be airing on Dec. 25 at 8:45 in the evening United Kingdom Time while the sixth season will premier on Jan. 3, 2016 in the United States.
