Thirty years ago Super Mario is a pixilated man with a mustache that looks like a bar and a square nose. Now his image is also keeping up with the trends. He was turned into an expressive 3D character. His designer was Takashi Tezuka.
Bloomberg reports that in order to modernize the Super Mario character, new graphics have been used. Of course the latest that can provide the crisp and sharper image for our character. Tezuka created the new Super Mario where its personality can be left to the imagination of its players. He was made with a do it yourself kit that allows users to upload on the players own selected level.
Nintendo already sold half a billion of consoles already, just the same within their hand held players. Next year when the company launches a new smart phone service, they will also be ready to test with the new audience the star power of Mario.
Mario was created originally buy Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto. He was made because his creator was denied the license to use Popeye for a video game that became Donkey Kong. Mario's simplicity can be attributed to the limitations of a confined computer restrictions. Because of this, Miyamoto gave Mario a mustache and a hat to his head. This he did to avoid having to imagine the animation of his hair and mouth.
Super Mario was first sold into the US console market when the industry of video gaming was at a decline. It was the time where Mario eventually became a pop culture icon as they sold 300 milion games.
In their recent re-creation Tezuka said, "We were just having a lot of fun, it was all about seeing who can come up with something that surprises your colleagues and makes them laugh." The creators feel strongly about their new Super Mario and they are happy that he is in sync with our modern times.
