Shortly after Dakota Johnson's relationship with boyfriend Matt Hitt came to an end, the "Fifty Shades Darker" star is being linked again to actor Jake Gyllenhaal.
Rumors between Johnson and Gyllenhaal circulated even before speculations about the actress' split with Hitt surfaced. Now that the "How to Be Single" actress is officially single again, she is said to be cozying up with her 35-year-old ex-boyfriend.
According to Movie News Guide, Johnson has allegedly ended up her relationship with Hitt to get back with Gyllenhaal. The two ex-lovers were rumored to be dating even when the "Fifty Shades of Grey" star was still in a relationship with the model.
On the other hand, the split of Johnson and Hitt is also allegedly caused by the 26-year-old actress' onscreen romance with Jamie Dornan in "Fifty Shades of Grey," which did not sit well with Hitt. The English model was said to be not a fan of Johnson's and Dornan's racy scenes in the movie.
The relationship of the two had fallen into a downward spiral since "Fifty Shades of Grey" was released in cinemas. They tried to work things out and to somehow renew their relationship. Yet, it seemed their second try was not enough that they eventually decided to split.
A recent report stated that the 28-year-old model had had enough of his girlfriend's busy schedule since Johnson's casting as Anastasia Steele in the "Fifty Shades" movie series. The actess's life becoming more complicated was apparently too much for Hitt to handle.
Meanwhile, rumored lovers Johnson and Gyllenhaal were spotted in separate states in the US. Johnson was seen vacationing with mother Melanie Griffiths, Kate Hudson and Goldie Hawn in Aspen. Johnson and Hudson were reported to swap moms.
On the other hand, Gyllenhaal was seen in New York City strolling with a mystery woman, who many speculated as his new girlfriend. However, according to reports, the woman is Gyllenhaal's long-time friend Greta Caruso.
