Iconic actor Kurt Russell is already in talks to play a very important role in the "Guardians of the Galaxy 2." Although he admits to not being able to watch the first installment, he is already being eyed to play as Peter Quill's father, a very significant plot that was earlier reported to be exploited in the second franchise of the movie.
Screen Crush reports that Kurt Russell has already confirmed to Happy Sad Confused podcast host, Josh Horowitz, that he is already under negotiations to portray as Peter Quill's dad in the movie "Guardians of the Galaxy 2." However, Russell also admits that he has not yet seen the first installment of the film yet.
Russell narrates that he's "one of the four idiots" that have not seen the film yet. He also confirmed that he is already talking with James Gunn, "Guardians of the Galaxy" writer and director and told Gunn that he's happy to be considered for the role. However, he also admits that he needs to read it first and watch the movie to be able to offer something for the film.
Collider on the other hand reports that Russell is almost close to confirming in getting the role in the "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" movie via the same podcast that he had together with Josh Horowitz. His regrets in not being able to see the film in the first place as well as his interest in taking time to familiarize himself with the material is almost close to confirming his decision in joining the film.
The "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" film is already on the pre-production stage and will star Chris Pratt, Zoe Aldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Benicio Del Torro, and Pom Klementieff. The film will hit theatres on May 5, 2015.
