‘2 Broke Girls’ News & Updates: CBS Series' Low Ratings Might Lead to Show Cancelation

There is a growing number of shows to be canceled in 2016, and "2 Broke Girls" may be one of them due to the low ratings it has been receiving recently. The show could experience what "Mike & Molly" (M&M) did, as the show got canceled when its ratings dropped.

According to TV By The Numbers, CBS' "2 Broke Girls" may be heading to the list of shows to be canceled in 2016.

"Given the news - and the puzzling winter schedule the network unveiled a couple weeks ago - it's hard not to wonder if 'Mike & Molly's' soon-to-be Wednesday cohort, '2 Broke Girls,' is headed the same direction," the media outlet claimed.

Unlike "M&M," "2 Broke Girls" had a much better rating in the first season with the former having a rating of 3.4 and the latter having a rating of 4.3. Unfortunately, for the succeeding years, the two TV series showed almost identical rating profiles. This fall, "2 Broke Girls" has an average rating of 1.6, much lower compared to the 1.9 average rating of "M&M" season 5 last 2014.

The Inquisitr also reported that there are good long-running shows that will end next year either by result of low ratings or by design. These include NBC's "Hannibal" which is decided by the network executives to cancel midway through the third season. "Scream Queens" "Bones" and "Castle" are rumored to be canceled next year as well.

"Studio executives are being really careful how they're talking about shows that aren't performing that well in the fall because they don't want to cut their nose off to spite their face," said Tom Nunan. Nunan is a film and TV producer who is now a teacher at UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.

Despite the rumors spreading over the Internet, there is still no confirmation whether "2 Broke Girls" will be one of the to-be-cancelled shows in 2016.
