"The Banner Saga," a popular tactical battle game involving a Viking twist, is approaching its second anniversary, but it does not really mean that the game has achieved the classic status just yet.
A port of the game for both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will arrive two days prior to its two-year launch anniversary on Android, OS X, Windows, and iOS. Apart from that, there are also some reports that the developer Stoic is about to complete its port for the PlayStation Vita with the assistance of Sony.
It is exactly the same PlayStation Vita that Sony has given up on, Geek reported. The company said that there will be no market for the device so there is no question why Sony is quite interested in supporting the creation of an older port for its previous handheld when the company does not have any plans of spending a huge amount of money on new triple-A titles for the gadget. It is the current situation with "The Banner Saga" though and the turnaround has been pretty quick as well.
According to Stoic's technical director John Watson on Stoic Studio, "The side effect of this is that we have had to put the Playstation Vita port on the back burner. I have been excited about the Vita port since day one, and I would love to see the Banner Saga running on my own Vita."
He also added that Stoic is composed of only four full-time internal personnels and all of them are working 100 percent on "Banner Saga 2" at present. Apart from that, he pointed out that their initial budget for porting to Vita has been burned as they have to pay double for the ports of the console.
PlayStation Vita Port of "The Banner Saga" will soon be made possible as Sony has officially confirmed to assist "Versus Evil" in order to get Stoic's port back into action.
