"Vampire Diaries" season 7 might see another main star, Ian Somerhalder, leaving the show. Meanwhile, the production introduced the new addition to the cast, Leslie-Anne Huff.
After the departure of Nina Dobrev, who plays Elena Gilbert, before the premiere of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7, her former co-star and ex-boyfriend Somerhalder, who plays Damon Salvatore in the series, is rumored to be mulling over leaving the show as well.
According to Vine Report, the Canadian-born actor has expressed his intentions on exiting the show as well, but not because Dobrev will never come back. Somerhalder allegedly is not in good terms with his current co-stars. Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore), Kat Graham (Bonnie Bennett), and Candace King (Caroline Forbes) were said to be pushing for Dobrev's comeback, which Somerhalder is not in favor of.
The 37-year-old "Lost" actor is reportedly not in favor of his ex-girlfriend coming back to "The Vampire Diaries" for two reasons. First, they had a past. Second, Somerhalder's wife, Nikki Reed, is allegedly jealous of Dobrev.
Apart from the complicated romance issue, there have also been reports that Somerhalder is distancing himself from the crew as well.
With all the BTS drama, creators of "The Vampire Diaries" revealed a new cast member, Leslie-Anne Huff. Fans pointed out how the former Disney Channel actress looks a lot like Dobrev. This started speculations that the new TVD addition could play a character who is related to Elena, Wetpaint noted.
However, Caroline Dries, the executive producer of the show, was quick to refute the rumors saying it is just a coincidence that the two actresses look alike.
Huff will be playing Rayna, a vampire hunter, in the second half of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7. Her character is described as someone whom vampires should not mess with because she's a "deadly legend who literally cannot rest until her vengeance is complete."
Huff will first appear in Mystic Falls in "The Vampire Diaries" season 7, episode 12.
