2015 has been quite a year for gamers as they have received tons of announcements, reboots, new games, and even free games. The 2016, on the other hand, promises a new beginning to everyone, even to players belonging to Sony's PlayStation Plus club who have been waiting for the next slew of free games every month.
Microsoft has already announced their first list of free games in 2016 with a number of their Xbox Live Games under the Gold program. Sony has been anticipated to disclose their January 2016 roster of free games, but fans might have to wait for the week to come, Australia Network News reported.
PlayStation Plus members cannot wait to know what Sony has prepared for them. Fred Dutton, PlayStation community manager, recently published a post on Twitter answering questions regarding the matter. In his response to one of the questions, Dutton tweeted that they might not be able to reveal the list for January 2016 until next week. However, he has not disclosed any specific schedule for the announcement.
Furthermore, Dutton failed to address the reasons for the delay in the announcement. Usually, Sony announces the free games two weeks before they are released and then they are rolled out and ready for download on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita by the first Tuesday of each month, Christian Today reported. If the company sticks to the schedule, the new roster of free games would be most likely available on Jan. 5, 2016.
Meanwhile, PlayStation Plus members who still have not gotten their free games for December can still avail of their copies. The free games for this month are "SSX" and "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" for PlayStation 3, "King's Quest - Chapter 1: A Knight to Remember" and "Gauntlet: Slayer Edition" for PlayStation 4, and "Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken" and "Freedom Wars" for PS Vita handheld.
