Just before the year ends, Nintendo's "Super Mario Maker" is adding three new costumes.
According to IGN, Nintendo of Europe revealed the two new costumes inspired by "Excitebike" and "Birdo" last week, adding that both costumes will be available on Dec. 31 through NES Remix Event Courses. It should be noted however the stated release dates of the two costumes are for Europe fans. The date the costumes will be made available in other territories has not been stated. Along with the announcement, Nintendo generously shared the teasers clips for the costumers via IGN.
In the meantime, while waiting for the two new costumes to arrive tomorrow, "Super Mario Maker" fans might want to check out the newly added Captain Toad costume. Nintendo of Europe has tweeted last week that the Captain Toad skin can already be unlocked by completing an event course. The Twitter post goes, "From 25/12, get a Captain Toad costume by completing the new #SuperMarioMaker Event Course. No jumping, now." Here is a peek at Mario wearing Captain Toad.
But moving back to Birdo, the character was first introduced in "Super Mario Bros. 2" as an enemy, according Cinema Blend. On the other hand, "Excitebike" is actually a 1985 motorcross game made by Nintendo. The player assumes the driver on a dirt bike and attempts to complete races on different variation of race tracks, characterized by the number of jumps required along its path.
For those who are not in the loop, "Super Mario Maker" is a new Nintendo title that combines the video game "Super Mario Bros" and a game creation system exclusively for Nintendo Wii U. With this new game, players can create their own levels that they can share with other players from around the globe. It is quite similar to PlayStation's "Little Big Planet."
