The upcoming Cinemax's demonic drama "Outcast" was said to be different from the hit AMC TV series, "The Walking Dead."
In a recent interview, Robert Kirkman was asked about how his latest TV franchise matched the AMC show. He said, "It's not like "The Walking Dead', where we do completely different things. There are some big differences to what we're doing with Kyle and Anderson, but mostly it's expanding and building around what exists in the comic series," Cinema Blend reported.
"Outcast" is an adaptation of Kirkman's comic book series and illustrated by Paul Azaceta. The story revolves around Kyle Barnes and reverend friend, Anderson, who's in search of the mystery besets the life around demonic possession.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Kirkman said that the characters will be limited according to the comic series. "Outcast" is most likely to not add additional cast that is not present in the comics.
On the other hand, the franchise creator did not make such limitation in zombie franchise "The Walking Dead." In which, he added the crowd favorite Daryl Dixon and others.
"Outcast" has 14 issues and less characters compared to the epic walker series which has 149 issues and several characters report said.
The trailer already presented how "Outcast" is different from other previous Kirkman's spectacle like the spinoff "Fear The Walking Dead."
Report said that, "If "The Walking Dead" is the zombie movie that never ends... "Outcast" is about people treating possession as a solvable problem."
Exorcism films have not yet fully satisfied its viewers in the recent years. "Outcast" was expected to offer an alternative.
The first episode of "Outcast" is directed by the acclaimed horror director, Adam Wingard which stars Patrick Fugit, Gabriel Bateman, Philip Glenister, David Denman, Wrenn Schmidt, and more.
The horror drama "Outcast" is set to debut in summer 2016 on Cinemax.
