"No Man's Sky" from independent developer Hello Games is one of 2016's most anticipated games -- and most hyped -- but gamers are advised to adjust expectations to the right level.
"No Man's Sky" is an adventure survival game designed by Gareth Bourn that is set to be released in June this year. Players of this sci-fi game can explore an open universe, with over 18 quintillion planets to visit.
"Whether a distant mountain or a planet hanging low on the horizon, you can go there. You can fly seamlessly from the surface of a planet to another, and every star in the sky is a sun that you can visit," the description in the official website says, "Where you'll go and how fast you'll make your way through this universe is up to you. It's yours for the taking."
Entertainment Weekly tagged "No Man's Sky" as an ambitious game and with its seemingly limitless potential, it is likely to fall short of expectations. With that, iDigitalTimes warns gamers to look forward to the game for the right reasons so as not to get disappointed. Being highly hyped, there are features that fans may expect but that the developers didn't even say will materialize.
While it might suffer the same fate as "Fallout 4" that was released later in 2015 and fell short of expectations, "No Man's Sky" is still projected to be as successful as "Fallout 4" turned out to be regardless. Players are going to enjoy this single-player or multiplayer video game, especially if the expectations are set to realistic ones and what are officially announced.
"No Man's Sky" will be released in June for PlayStation 4. It will also be available on Microsoft Windows later on. It was awarded as the Most Anticipated Game in the recent The Game Awards 2015.
