After three long decades, the 1982 film "Blade Runner" will finally have its planned sequel, "Blade Runner 2," and will start filming this 2016. Ridley Scott, the man behind the film, also admitted that he used some of the footages from the movie "The Shining" to be able to complete the first installment of the movie series.
Lawyer Herald reports that Harrison Ford will remain as the main cast for the upcoming "Blade Runner 2" movie and will start filming by fall 2016. This has been confirmed by Ford himself during his appearance at the Sydney Opera House last December for a Star Wars fan event. He revealed that the story will pick up right after the events of the original film "Blade Runner."
However, Ridley Scott will not return for the sequel of the series. He also confirmed that due to pressure over the final cut of "Blade Runner", he was forced to get help with some of the scenes in the series, thus ending up using some of "The Shining" footages for his film.
Scified on the other hand reports that Ryan Gosling will also be taking a lead role alongside Harrison Ford in "Blade Runner 2." He also confirmed that Denis Villeneuve will be directing the fil together with the cinematography of Roger Deakins.
Ryan Gosling was tight lip with the role that he will be taking up in the film and teased that he'll "explode if he says anything else."
"Blade Runner 2" is the much awaited sequel to Ridley Scotts 1982 film that is an adaptation of the 1968 novel by Philip K. Dick. The first installment, "Blade Runner" earned $33.8 million during that time. Ridley Scott also opened up some interesting details about the first parts of the sequel despite not being able to be part of the film.
