History Channel's periodical drama series "Vikings" is set to get more intense and more dramatic. In "Vikings" Season 4 fans can expect to see the best of the show and the worst in the fate of other characters.
Season 4 of "Vikings" will return on Feb. 18, 2016 and will be an extended season. It has been reported that the fans will enjoy another 10 more episodes. It was already confirmed that season 4 will have 20 episodes and it will be split in two. The fans will have longer viewing time but that also sound trouble for both big and small characters of the show.
The show's executive producer, Michael Hirst, shared to TV Insider that in this season's opener, "[Ragnar's] life from now on is in constant jeopardy." Hirst added that, "His brother, Rollo [Clive Standen], may betray Ragnar again, and big time. His rule is never the same."
And according to Vine Report, in season 4 the viewers will see Travis Fimmel's character Ragnar wrath over betrayal. In the latest video teaser Ragnar was loud and clear when he said, "You betrayed my trust but most of all my love for you."
He then shouted, "Rollo, you have betrayed your own kind!"
But another interesting thing that Hirst revealed was the romance part involving Ragnar. Hirst hinted that Ragnar will "find an unexpected intimate in Chinese slave Yidu (Dianne Doan), who was captured in Paris. There is a romantic element to their relationship." It seems like it will not be all betrayal for Ragnar.
Hirst also hinted that season 4 will be very challenging for Bjorn played by Alexander Ludwig. Bjorn may be in Ragnar's side but he will also try to prove his worth to his father by going to a mission in the winter wilderness. Hirst said that "Very, very nasty things happen to him."
It looks like "Vikings" Season 4 will be a big one. As Hirst said, "This season is going to transcend anything we've done."
There is definitely more to expect in season 4 when it comes to weapons, fight scenes and even heartbreaks. "We've definitely topped the raid on Paris" and "there are going to be casualties," says Hirst.
"Vikings" is set to return with an extended season 4 on History Channel on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 10 p.m.
