‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’: Zack Snyder Talks Movie's Main Theme, Drops Hints about a Bigger Villain for Justice League

Zack Snyder, the director of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," finally spoke about the film and what it really is about, and even dropped hints about the real villain for the Justice League.

Snyder was careful not to give away details about the upcoming big screen clash of Batman and Superman, Cinema Blend said. On the other hand, the director delved more on the movie's tone.

In his recent interview, the 49-year-old director said there is more to the film than just the action and large-scale battles. He explained that "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is, in a way, a drama film.

"I think the fun of the movie is, in the end, it's a drama. They have to figure out each other, to figure out how to fight each other. So it's really about what ... makes them tick, and sort of, how that's going to work out in a conflict. And we'll see what happens," Snyder stated.

The DC Comics and the WB animated version had already shown this conflict between the two most popular DC superheroes. It is not a secret that at some point in their comic and animated lives, Batman and Superman have already clashed.

In a way, their fight springs from how the two superheroes view the world. Superman has always tried to find the good in humanity, while Batman, who has had his share of tragedies, is having a difficult time getting out of the darkness he is used to.

Aside from talking about the drama in "Batman v Superman," Snyder also mentioned the upcoming "Justice League: Part One" movie which is about to start filming, Comic Book noted.

The filmmaker said, "We're working on Justice League right now, right? In a weird way, Justice League is the next step for these characters to form a bigger team. Maybe there's a bigger enemy to fight."

Some members of the Justice League will be introduced in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which will be shown in theaters on March 25.
