Calabasas Celebrity Properties: Would You Like to Share Village with Justin Bieber?

Calabasas, a city in the Los Angeles county, has gotten star-studded in the recent years. "Sorry" singer Justin Bieber made it to the headlines in March 2015 once again, when he bought a pad with five bedrooms and a stadium seating movie theatre for $6.5 million. This particular property is situated in the Estates at the Oaks, a Calabasas enclave equipped with paparazzi-proof gates.

Bieber's property was formerly owned by the ex-wife of "The Nutty Professor" actor, Eddie Murphy. His neighbors include Katherine Jackson, Ken Jong, Gary Sinise, and Tommy Lee. The "Love Yourself" singer is always seen in his Fisker Karma, the Hollywood Reporter revealed.

But why are celebrities liking Calabasas?

Without a doubt, it is the safety, privacy, and the properties' values, LA Curbed reported.

Currently, there are 23, 000 people living in Calabasas, most of which are in mansions. An area was once a home to the Warner Bros. Ranch, where every single thing from Sergeant York to Casablanca was caught in film. The 2,800 acre area in 1991 became incorporated, but became a national favorite when "Newlyweds" Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson had it as their scenic backdrop.

"Keeping up with the Kardashians" also debuted in the location in 2007. TV shows of its residents like Denise Richards, Richie Sambora, and Nikki Sixx, prompted media to compare the vicinity to a real "Melrose Place."

Coldwell Banker Jill Lieberman said that media exposure made Calabasas lure a number of top-end international buyers. People who have preferred to live here would never know this name if it were not for reality shows. The shows glamorized Calabasas.

Despite the not so impressive real estate market, celebrity listings still have overshadowed the trend. Kevin Costner, for one, listed his 190-acre ranch for $24.99 million.

Ewing & Associates partner Jeff Biebuyck, on the other hand, said that he believes that it is the presence of celebrities that continue to bring in buyers. He added that most people are thinking that if the location and the properties have satisfied big people, then it will not fail all the others.
