Own a Zoo in Wales Priced at £600,000 Inlcuding Animals and a Two-Storey Bungalow

Animal lovers will surely be excited to know that a British zoo is currently for sale with an asking price of £600,000.

The zoo is complete with 300 exotic creatures that include snakes, lizards, lemurs, wallabies, raccoons, monkeys, meerkats, and even crocodiles. The property is called "The Animalarium" located near Aberystwyth in Wales.

Before becoming a zoo, the property has rare breeds of different farm animals that include rabbits, sheep, and poultry. But the couple decided to transform the place into a zoo due to their love and fondness to exotic animals.

There are also different kinds of birds like rheas, cockatoos, owls, peacocks, cranes and emus as well s various cats like a leopard, a lynx, an ocelot and also a pair of lions that they recently acquired.

Aside from the 12 acres of grounds and gardens, the property also comes with a two-bedroom detached bungalow. The buyer of the zoo will need to apply a new zoo license through the local council. But the new owner doesn't need to worry about taking care of the animals since there is an existing team who handles them, Metro UK reported.

The Animalarium is being sold by owners, 76-year-old Jean Mumbray, and her 56-year-old husband Alan who have decided to sell the property since they want to retire and will move to another place.

"Life at a zoo is more routine than you'd expect but every now and then something unexpected will happen. Once we had to move the emus and they got frightened and started laying eggs, and on New Year's Day one year we had surprise twin baby monkeys born," Mrs. Mumbray said, according to Mail Online.

The zoo became a bigger attraction in the area which received over 27,000 visitors last year and is increasing every year.

"We've loved being here, but it's very time consuming. Alan wants me to retire. He's afraid I'm going to drop down dead and leave him," Mrs. Mumbray added.
