HGTV's hit show "Fixer Upper," now on its third season, has gained a lot of fans across the country because of its raw and rustic charm. On each episode, husband-and-wife duo Chip and Joanna Gaines showcase their design savvy that focuses on repurposing vintage and shabby chic finds that turn run-down properties into picture-perfect homes.

For fans who are planning to buy their own fixer-uppers and want to have Chip and Joanna's signature look, HGTV has just revealed details on how to get cast on the show. There aren't a lot of requirements, but the top rule is that the house should be in Waco, Texas, where the famous hosts are based. The couple remain grounded in their local community, where they also run a farm and, more recently, their own furniture and design shop. The next important requirement is the budget. The home owner should be willing to spend for the renovation of his property. The network specifies a minimum of $30,000 as working budget, but the cost can go higher depending on the amount of work needed.

Additionally, Pop Sugar reports that the home owner should also agree to give Chip and Joanna full control of the project after an initial discussion. Unlike other HGTV renovation shows where the home owners have the say about design, cost, and details, "Fixer Upper" requires the home owner to be surprised with what the hosts and the producers will come up with their budget.
Fans should not have a problem with this last requirement, however, as most clients are more than happy with what Chip and Joanna reveal by the end of each episodes. In fact, the creative tandem have made their mark in the home and living market that they already have their own line of furniture called "Magnolia Home."
This October, the Gaines will also be releasing their first book entitled "The Magnolia Story," which will detail the couple's first foray into the construction and design business.
"Fixer Upper" Season 3 airs every Tuesday, 9 p.m. on HGTV.
