Basketball Coach Rick Pitino, Put His Mansion Back to Market for $25.9M

University of Louisville's men's basketball coach Rick Pitino has relisted his newly renovated mansion in Miami-area for $25.9 million.

Pitino's mansion has been relisted several times over the years. It is located in affluent Indian Creek Village, and was last listed for $13.9 million in 2013.

The mansion has since been renovated according to listing agent Ralph Arias from ONE Sotheby's International Realty. The price has dramatically increased in the last few years, he added.

Pitino's home measures about 12,000 square feet. It has an elevator and has eight bedrooms. It is sitting on around 1.3-acre of land with an estimate of 130-foot frontage on Biscayne Bay.

Pitino and his wife Joanne acquired the waterfront home in 1999 for $5.4 million, as shown on the public records. It has been renovated and expanded over the years.  It has now a new wing and a swimming pool.

Pitino also added a second-floor gym with a steam shower, two terraces and water views. There is a staircase outside that leads from the gym to the pool area with a covered outdoor kitchen. The guest wing has a separate entrance and the property has a dock for a 100-foot-yatch.

The buyer may choose to customize the kitchen and bath; those are not fully finished yet.

On the other hand, Pitino has been coaching the University of Louisville's men's basketball team since 2001. He also coached the Cardinals to NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship in 2013. He also served Providence College, University of Kentucky and Boston University in 1996, leading the program to NCAA Championship.

Aside from his college coaching career, Pitino also coached New York Knicks for two seasons and Boston Celtics for three and a half.

He is the only recognized men's coach in the history of NCAA to lead three different schools to a Final Four and lead two different schools to an NCAA National Championship.
