Rick Pitino, the head men's basketball coach at the University of Louisville has just put his newly-renovated Miami-area mansion back on the market. Found in the affluent community of Indian Creek Village, the waterfront home is now listed for $25.9 million.
Spanning 12,000 square feet, the home has eight bedrooms,10.5 bathrooms and an elevator. The home is situated on 1.23 acres of lot, with approximately 130 feet of water frontage on Biscayne Bay.
The residence has been on and off the market for several years now. In fact, it was last listed in 2013 for $13.9 million. Listing agent Ralph Arias of ONE Sotheby's International Realty has also highlighted the fact that the home has been renovated since its last listing.
Arias also noted that home prices in Indian Creek have seen an increase the past few years, hence the much higher asking price this time around. According to the Wall Street Journal:
"According to public records, Mr. Pitino and his wife Joanne purchased the waterfront home for $5.4 million in 1999. Over the past year, the home has been renovated and expanded, with a new wing and swimming pool, Mr. Arias said."
Other new additions include a second-floor gym with two terraces, a steam shower, and water views. There is also an exterior staircase that gives guests direct access from the gym to the pool area, where a covered outdoor kitchen can also be found.
The home also has its own guest wing with a separate, private entrance, in addition to a dock, which can fit a 100-foot yacht, as said by Arias.
The renovation is nearing completion: only the kitchen and bath finishes await - which the buyer can choose to customize if preferred. Based on the listing, the home buyer could move into the mansion as early as May this year.
