Change has come for Fourth Avenue of Brooklyn. Few years from now, it would no longer be remembered as "Canyon of Mediocrity," since revitalization of the area has been implemented.
New York Times reports that the president of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Carlo A. Scissura, has started a task force 5 years ago to invigorate the corridor. This was when Scissura was the chief of staff of Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz. From then on, changes have been visible in the Fourth Avenue.
Report states that "Zoning changes have prompted a batch of large rental and condominium buildings to sprout on the corridor in the last several years, giving many parts of the avenue a cleaner, more inviting look." Although, Scissura said in an interview that the Fourth Avenue still needs more trees and better lighting, not to mention the need to have more retail industries.
Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Carlo A. Scissura has a great vision for Fourth Avenue. Lately, there are already real estate developers who share the vision of Scissura. One of these developers is the JDS Development Group. This company is based in Manhattan which develops high-end condominiums and rentals mostly in Park Avenue. But then, the company will now "start 11-story, 44-unit condo on the corner of Baltic Street and Fourth Avenue in early March."
The senior managing director of the Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group Jodi Stasse reveals that the luxury condo is called "The Baltic." It will be constructed right of course at the 613 Baltic Street. This project "will offer mostly two- and three-bedroom units, and only two one-bedrooms."
NY Curbed states that "The Baltic" prices will range from $900,000 to $3.6 million. The luxury condominium will have fancy amenities like roof decks, on-site parking, and an outdoor cinema. The architectural design of this luxury condo is done by VOA Architecture, the firm that works on the Nomad's Virgin Hotel design.
