Brown Colors Everywhere

Brown can be such an elegant color, but once you use too much of it in any room, it begins to look dull and and tiring to look at. Some homeowners do tend to splurge on brown ensembles forgetting the fact that they have brown ceilings, wooden tiles, and floor to ceiling brown cabinets.

After: A Touch of New Colors

To spruce up the space, owners went for new open shelves. They also repainted the lower cabinets and replaced the counter with a second hand butcher block. They also added new set of vinyl floor tiles. They only paid $3,400 for all the new decorations and improvements.

The owners didn't get rid of the upper cabinets, instead, they redesigned it to come up with open shelves. With a bit of help from IKEA brackets and a few pine boards, the old cabinet looks like a new addition to the room. They furnished it with finishing wax for a better looking result.

Boring and Dull

This lifeless looking kitchen comes with plain wood cabinets and plenty of items that don't really make sense.

The owners were creative enough to give this kitchen with a spectacular transformation through simple redecoration. They repainted all of the surface with more vibrant and energetic colors. They also installed a new lighting using industrial cage lights.

You can also improve the tiles by using stencil. Wooden flooring can be stencilled with square patterns or any other pattern that you like.

Eyesore Tiles

Tiles can either make or break the look of a kitchen. Floor tiles that have eerie design would be a huge no-no.

Jennifer Ryan, a great designer, changed the room's style by removing the horrible looking floor tiles with something hip and fun. The upper cabinets are also improved by transforming them into open shelves and countertops.
