How to Stage Your Home Like a Pro

Staging your home is an important part if you want to attract buyers into considering your house in their priority list. However, hiring professionals can often be expensive, so some sellers choose to skip this part. How can you stage your home like a pro?

Home staging is often done when listing a home in the real estate market. Real estate agents often deem this process as necessary because it helps buyers imagine themselves living in your space.

Other agents may even suggest that you hire a professional stager, especially if you want to sell your home fast. However, there are ways in which you can stage your home like a pro without spending a dime.

According to Elle Décor, you can stage your home like a pro by cleaning, de-cluttering and mixing up a variety of colors and patterns. De-cluttering your space is a must because nobody wishes to see cluttered rooms on posted photos on listings, so start by cleaning up your space.

After doing some major cleaning at home, it's time to amp up the visual impact by adding patterns. The publication stated that you can group similar-colored books together in order to add a dramatic look and feel to your room.

"Color blocked books can be almost as striking and powerful as a great piece of art," said Celebrity home stager Meridith Baer.

You may also try arranging flowers and placing them in several areas of the home.

"Sometimes a few blossoming branches in a glass vase with water can be just as striking as an expensive bouquet from the florist," Baer added.

Aside from this, Realtor.com stated that the addition of a mirror at home can help brighten the room and give the illusion of a bigger space.

The publication also stated that you need to halve your closets and garage to make the room appear bigger and more spacious than it is.
