Boxing News: Gennady Golovkin Wants to Face Julio Cesar Chavez, Canelo Alvarez, Miguel Cotto, Floyd Mayweather

Gennady Golovkin is hoping that he will have better year in 2015 as he is aiming to get big fights, including the first pay-per-view fight of his career.

In an interview with BoxingScene, Golovkin is hoping to land fights against big name fighters after his scheduled showdown against Martin Murray on Feb. 2 in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

"Everything I've done so far is for the fans," Golovkin said. "Thanks to all of them we've have managed to get to where we are, but [in 2015] we hope to do great things besides the fight with Martin Murray."

Golovkin, the reigning World Boxing Association and International Boxing Organization middleweight champion, already has possible opponents in mind, but he is also aware that he needs to win impressively against Murray in their upcoming fight to prove that he deserves a shot against the big-name fighters.

"I hope to face Chavez Jr., Canelo, Cotto, Carl Froch and Floyd Mayweather - but I think right now my biggest fight is with Chavez Jr.," Golovkin added. "For me, all opponents are respected. Murray has shown [that he's tough] with Sergio Martinez and Felix Sturm, but hopefully we can win and by knockout."

Golovkin has a perfect 31-0 record with an impressive knockout percentage. In 31 victories, only three fights went into distance. The 32-year-old knocked out his last 18 opponents, including Marco Antonio Rubio, who lasted just two rounds in their title fight in October last year.

In a recent interview, Golovkin's trainer, Abel Sanchez, said that they are expecting a tough fight against Murray in February, but he remained firm in his previous stance, reiterating that nobody in the junior middleweight and middleweight division can last 12 rounds against Golovkin.

Sanchez said that the real challenge is on the 168-pound division against fighters like Chavez, Froch and Ward.

"I said a long time ago that there was nobody at 154 or 160 that could go twelve rounds with him and I stand by that now," Sanchez said. "There is nobody at 160 that will go twelve rounds with him. We may have the bigger challenges at 168 in the future, there's Froch, there's Chavez, there's Ward up at that level weight wise. Right now he's cruising along with the 160's and no one is giving him any problems."
