Barely a week after Comic Con, fans are still hyped up with the various superhero movie details that were unveiled in San Diego. X-Men fanatics are even happier now, given the latest updates for "X-Men: Apocalypse." The movie's director, Bryan Singer, recently revealed the descriptions of the Marvel superheroes including the villain "En Sabah Nur."
Singer spoke with Yahoo! Movies about "X-Men: Apocalypse" and mentioned how fans will be surprised with the new versions of beloved X-Men characters such as Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm and Nightcrawler. Stars Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp and Kodi Smit-McPhee will be playing the character's younger versions, respectively. Singer adds that these characters will be very different from how they were in previous X-Men movies.
The director's Yahoo! Movies interview also talked about the film's new direction. If previous X-Men instalments showed the conflict and battle of mutants versus humans, "X-Men: Apocalypse" will be different. Singer reveals that the movie will deal with global issues, along with the "concept of ancient mutanism, gods and men."
Another exciting detail that the director shared was a description for the movie's ultimate villain. "Apocalypse" also known as "En Sabah Nur," is an immortal mutant born in ancient Egypt, reports Screen Rant. "En Sabah Nur" has convinced humans that he is a god given his immense power. He has travelled the world for centuries and incited several wars throughout history. This powerful immortal is also able to manipulate other mutants to serve as his personal guard, known as the "Horsemen of Apocalypse."
However, what makes "En Sabah Nur" a compelling and ultimate villain, reveals Singer to Yahoo!, is that the character "makes no distinction between humans and mutants, only between the weak and the strong." Singer's description of the ultimate villain is only making fans more excited for "X-Men: Apocalypse."
"X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated for release on May 27, 2016.
