Amy Schumer has been dominating the attention in social media and Hollywood in general. This comedic personality not only makes the audience laugh off during her movie "Trainwreck", she is also one of the lead women in Hollywood whom women look up to because of her feminist side.
According to the Guardian, Amy Schumer is one of the most upfront people in the business to date. The 34-year old American comedian and actor is much less extrovert and appears to dismiss all signs of embarrassment as a performer. Time magazine even labeled her as one of the most influential people to date. Even the actor Tilda Switon commented on the spread saying that Schumer is such an honest bomb and that she's coming to get everyone that's on her way.
During the 2014 Gloria Awards, Schumer got her attention being labeled as a feminist because of her speech. In one episode of her hit reality TV Series "Inside Amy Schumer", she depicted an episode where she had a one-morning stand during her college days. She then told the man she was with: "I stand here and I am amazing, for you. Not because of you. I am not who I sleep with. I am not my weight. I am not my mother. I am myself. And I am all of you, and I thank you."
Her famous TV show recently finished its third series in America. An episode also showed a debate between 12 Angry Men where the judges were: Paul Giamatti, Jeff Goldblum and Man Men's Vincent Kartheiser. They were debating whether Schumer was "hot enough to be on TV." Despite the judgmental approach of the men, Schumer found humor in it and never failed to showcase herself as a woman of great worth.
According to Breitbart, Schumer even received an open letter from Sarah Clements which urged her to uphold the feminist aspect in society nowadays. The open letter addressed the monstrous attacks on women such as that of Sandy Hook Elementary and Wisconsin Sikh Temple. Such incidents were a retaliation about women's ability to voice out their opinions on society.
Last August 1, Schumer responded to the open letter tweeting: "Don't worry I'm on it. You'll see." This clearly indicated that amidst her popularity in Hollywood, Amy Schumer has was it takes to speak up for women in our society nowadays.
