‘Outlander’ Season 2 Spoilers: Sam Heughan Teases Jamie’s Two Different Sides

"Outlander" Season 2 is still a long wait for most fans, as the premiere date for the Starz time traveler series remains unknown for now. However, the cast and crew of the series, including Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, have been very generous with their spoilers as to what fans can expect in the sophomore season. The 35-year-old Scottish actor hinted that Jamie Fraser will have two different sides next season. What does he mean by this?

Warning: Spoilers ahead! Read on if you want to learn more about the details of this story.

"Outlander" Season 2 will see the return of Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser and Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall, as the Starz time traveler series covers Diana Gabaldon's second book, "Dragonfly in Amber." Season 1 seemingly ended on a dark note following the torture scene between Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies) and Jamie in Wentworth Prison.

While fans who have read Gabaldon's book are already aware of some events that will take place in "Outlander" Season 2, including Jamie and Claire's attempt to stop the Battle of Culloden from taking place, several details have been shared by the cast and crew of the show. Heughan shared that Jamie will continue to struggle with the events from Wentworth Prison and will therefore, have two different sides.

"Publicly he's a good businessman and very charming, but in those late nights with Claire we see the mask come off," Heughan told Blastr, according to Daily Record.

The Scottish actor admitted that Claire will be there to help and support Jamie and will even use their mission as a means for him to forget the events from Wentworth Prison with Black Jack. However, this will also put their relationship to the test.

While a premiere date for the upcoming season of "Outlander" is still unknown, executive producer Ron Moore seemingly hinted to Zap2It that Season 2 will not have a midseason break.

"You could theoretically broadcast it in two pieces because they are almost standalone sections, but right now the intention is probably to show them straight through," Moore said.
