"Outlander" Season 2 will see the return of Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall and Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser, as the show takes on Diana Gabaldon's second book, "Dragonfly in Amber." While it has been known that Tobias Menzies will be returning to the sophomore season of the Starz time traveler series as Frank, fans were left wondering if Sam's nemesis, Black Jack Randall made it out alive from the cattle stampede in Season 1.
As it turns out, Black Jack Randall is alive and is back to haunt Jamie and Claire, as new photos on the set of "Outlander" from Daily Record showed Jamie and Black Jack in a heated encounter. Heughan and Menzies were reported spotted filming in Glasgow's Pollock Country Park. The show's release date for Season 2, however, remains unknown, but some reports claim that the series will be back on March 2016.
Meanwhile, the 35-year-old Scottish actor recently thanked fans of "Outlander" after being hailed as RadioTimes.com Sci-Fi and Fantasy Champion 2015, RadioTimes reported. The outlet noted that Heughan successfully beat off other notable actors like John Barrowman from "Doctor Who" and "Arrow," Eliza Taylor-Cotter from "The 100" and Lana Parilla and Colin O'Donoghue from "Once Upon A Time." Heughan gathered almost 2 million votes.
"An incredible war has just been fought! Battling some huge Science Fiction icons and our fans did it," Heughan proudly said.
While Jamie is busy fighting Black Jack, it looks like Heughan's battle has not ended either. The outlet cited that Heughan still has to go on the Champion of Champion Rounds, where he will go head-to-head against Champions from other categories. Can "Outlander" fans make it to the top?
