'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 Spoilers: More Lustful, Less Emotionally Painful

"Grey's Anatomy" season 11 ended with a shock after losing Dr. Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd (played by Patrick Dempsey). The upcoming season of the medical drama series now promises an ample amount of relationship difficulties and delights.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 characters Alex & Jo will be essential elements, Enstarz reported. One particular relationship that will reportedly heat up just happens to be between the newly married couple, Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) and Dr. Catherine Avery (Debbie Allen). The "Grey's Anatomy" two doctors got married in the final episode of Season 11, which was touted a rather sweet finale to an overall very rowdy season.

Loads of Change Is Coming To "Grey's Anatomy" season 12. Allen has revealed that the passion is bound to really heat up between Catherine and her onscreen husband, Variety reported, Tuesday. During the interview, she said, "We'll just say that we are given new life with sexy over 50," then further added, "We have a very hot relationship. Richard has got her busy."

The drama will spread across the "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 show and Allen's character have quite a lot to discuss regarding her son Dr. Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) and his wife Dr. April Kepner's (Sarah Drew) bumpy relationship, since things didn't really leave off well for the couple at the "Grey's Anatomy" finale of season 11.

When speaking about her "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 onscreen son's relationship, Allen says, "When we left, my son, he was going through a little drama with his wife, and you know Catherine has a lot to say about that."

"Grey's Anatomy" is set to return to ABC in a few weeks. The "Grey's Anatomy" show will premier this coming Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. ET.
