Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic have been revealed during the IFA 2015.
IFA 2015 is really full of surprises with visitors having a blast with the non-stop consumer goodies. Now, from the Korean company Samsung, the first, round wearable watch has been revealed.
Samsung, the South Korean tech giant, has shown the world the Samsung Gear S2 during the Galaxy Unpacked event. It was quite a brief moment for their new wearable, which could only be described as a round watch. But now, during the IFA Berlin 2015, its time has arrived.
Samsung Gear wearable will have two variants, the Samsung Gear S2 and the Samsung Gear S2 Classic. The S2 Classic looks, first and foremost, like an analog wrist watch, with its seconds, minutes and hour hands.
Samsung Gear S2 Classic sits on a 40mm wide and 11.4mm thick gunmetal stainless steel face and has a black leather strap, plus a rotating ceramic bezel, which give it a very classic design indeed. Now here is the best part, underneath that old school look is a set of high tech communication tools, Wired reported.
Gear S2, is an entirely opposite looking watch. The Samsung Gear S2 comes with an elastomer band and a very minimalist look, but entirely contrasting with its features. It might be primarily designed for active users, which is also slightly thicker at 13.4mm. The reason behind is, it has an eSim slot that will make the watch 3G capable. Screen size is pegged at 1.5 inch OLED touchscreen for both, Tech Radar reported.
Samsung Gear S2 devices' other notable features include dual-core 1GHz processors, voice commands via S Voice, music players on board, 4GB storage, NFC, Wi-Fi, and Samsung Pay compatibility. It will also have a thousand apps available upon its release, as well as a battery charge that can last for two to three days.
Samsung Gear S2 wearables will be readily available in October, although there are no official pricings yet for the devices. Speculations put it at around $300.
