Mobile games have made a huge stir in the world of technology ever since smartphones became widely popular. Now, a new game is rolling out for mobile users and this one is based on the famous "Star Wars" saga.
"Star Wars: Uprising" has been the subject of several rumors for quite some time before its official release. Tech savvy and mobile gamers were very excited for the very first "Star Wars" role-play game for handsets. But what was even more thrilling is its timing. The release is happening right in the middle of "Episode VI: Return of the Jedi" as well as the up and coming, "Episode VII: The Force Awakens."
The game's developer, Kabam, did a collaboration with Disney Interactive Studios and Lucasfilm, in order to release the latest mobile game which is a part of the classic space drama's tenet.
As previously established, "Star Wars: Uprising" will be set in an isolated part of the entire "Star Wars" galaxy. This is where Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader are believed to be still alive, as a result of Adelhard's lies.
Players can create an avatars with six playable classes to choose from: Bounty Hunter, Smuggler, Rebel Guerilla, Gambler, Diplomat, and another one yet to be revealed. Missions can be completed with a team of four players or less.
Kabam senior vice president, Aaron Loeb, told Wired back in June, "It is a true RPG. It is really about building your 'Star Wars' fantasy, of being the character you most want to be in that universe."
Loeb further detailed the gameplay, saying it is a "dungeon crawler," where every level will have players implementing gesture-based moves as well as using gears that they will find along the way.
"Star Wars: Uprising" is scheduled for realease at the Google Play Store and Apple AppStore on Sept. 10.
