Following a number of leaked images of the most-awaited "X-Men: Apocalypse" film, news of the rumored trailer will drop soon together with the Oct. 2 release of Matt Damon's space drama, "The Martian," Heroic Hollywood reported.
With the release of the first trailer with "The Martian," speculations are, the second trailer for "X-Men: Apocalypse" will be set with another superhero film, the X-Men spinoff Deadpool that will hit the theaters on Feb. 12, 2016.
A first glimpse of the trailer was seen during the Comic-Con and it is not certain yet if the trailer to be released in October is similar to the leaked footage.
The film is Bryan Singer’s fourth X-Men title which features a flashback from the '70s to the '80s timeline where young Storm, Jean Grey, Cyclops and more were introduced. Classic members who will be returning in the film are James McAvoy’s Professor X, Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique, Nicholas Hoult’s Beast and Michael Fassbender’s Magneto. Aside from those mentioned, new mutants will also be introduced with a peek into their histories.
One character that has attracted the interest of many is critically-acclaimed Oscar Isaac's Apocalypse, the villain of the story. A leaked screenshot of Apocalypse has been making rounds in the internet showing a lightened up and more familiar version of the classic character than the first official shots released earlier this summer, Polygon reported.
Critics said that the new look of Apocalypse is likened to Ivan Ooze from "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie" and doesn't look like an intimidating foe for the X-Men.
The movie features a number of new cast members who will play the younger versions of the mutants, such as Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), and others.
Meanwhile, director Bryan Singer said that X-Men: Apocalypse will end the trilogy that started with "X-Men: First Class" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past." Apart from the Deadpool spinoff, the studio will also release "Gambit" next year and "Wolverine 3" in 2017.
When asked about the future of the superhero film franchise, Singer told Movie Web, "We actually didn't talk that much about where things are going to head. We were really focused on just laying the groundwork for this film. And knowing that of course you're going to have an ending that opens itself up to more exploration. The X-Men universe is sort of built for that. It's built for growth."
"X-Men: Apocalypse" will be hitting theaters in its full feature on May 27, 2016.
