The first sequel of "Pacific Rim" created a wave of followers and now, as the rumors were given that there might be a sequel, and the production being halted, fans are clamoring for its release.
When "Pacific Rim" was released, fans were waiting for its next part. However, Bustle reported that "The latest episode of uproar threatens to cancel "Pacific Rim 2" entirely. After inheriting the Kaiju-laden property from Warner Bros., Universal Pictures has now decided to halt production on "Pacific Rim 2", Guillermo del Toro's developing sequel.
The question remains. Why? When the ultra-budgeted "Pacific Rim" did extremely overseas, more so than it did in the United States, leaving any potential sequels the subject of hard-nosed deliberation as further noted by Bustle.
None has no idea as to the outcome or the plot of the sequel, but many speculations have arisen. In the past few weeks, the notion of a "Pacific Rim 2" was able to earn the green light at Universal Pictures, but at the same time it created more queries such as to the plot and to the story itself. Will there a Kaiju merge with a Jaeger or something more.
The first "Pacific Rim" was an imagination of Del Torro that captivated audiences from all across the globe. The question is will Del Torro promise monsters, better robots, or other unknown worlds? All of these speculations will remain unanswered since the second part of the movie is not yet set to be released.
With the halting of the movie, one cannot fathom the basis for that decision. Cheatsheet recently reported that when "Pacific Rim" was first released in 2013, it was something of an anomaly and it also flopped at the domestic box office. The film was making just a shade over $100 million on an almost $200 million budget. However, the film gained popularity overseas, making an additional $300 million at the foreign box office.
With all the profits it has gained, the film should be getting its moment back in the spotlight, but that might have to wait for Warner Bros., Universal Pictures to change their mind.
