iPad Mini 4 vs. Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0: Mini 4 Gets Better Design; Galaxy Tab Better in Specs

iPad Mini 4 may surpass iPad Pro's popularity, beating Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 in terms of design.

iPad Pro release just marked the market that no other tablet exists as soon as it took the center stage. The show is not over yet though, or for Apple at least, since iPad Mini 4 may become the newest sensation.

iPad Mini 4 is starting to be noticed by both Apple and non-Apple users. It did not capture the hearts of the crowd immediately, as was the plan, but comparing it to its closest rival, the one by Samsung, is another ballgame. So what is the score between the iPad Mini 4 and the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0? Let us find out.

iPad Mini 4 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 tablets have its own looks and they look entirely different. Samsung has greatly improved with its Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 which comes with a frame made of metal. The back panel is still plastic though, textured, at least. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner built right into the home button. The device is extremely thin, only 5.6 mm and comes in three colors, black, white and gold.

iPad Mini 4 seems better though with its metal unibody and rounded edges, it shows an elegant looking tablet. It is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor, 6.1mm in height, and comes in gray, silver and gold.

iPad Mini 4 also has 7.9-inch IPS LCD screen with a 1536x2048 pixel resolution, and with 324 pixels per inch density. Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 has a bigger 8.0-inch super AMOLED screen with a 1536x2048 pixel resolution, and with 320 pixels per inch density.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 comes with octa-core Exynos 7 and is clocking in at 1.9 GHz and 1.3 GHz, while the iPad Mini 4 has an A8 dual core chipset clocking in at 1.5 GHz.

iPad Mini 4, unfortunately, has no added memory slot on top of its 2GB RAM, while Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 comes with a version that allows a maximum of 128GB for external storage and 3GB of RAM.

The iPad Mini 4 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 cost $399 each.
