"Final Fantasy XV" developer Square Enix has revealed more details about the game's characters and story.
"Final Fantasy XV's" Hajime Tabata presented the information during the panels Active Time session. He introduced three main characters and explained the story, to the delight of the fans.
"Final Fantasy XV" is on a world similar to our Earth. It is chaos everywhere except in a nation called Lucis, being governed by the Crown Prince of the Kingdom, Noctis Lucis. Crystals are sought after in this world, and it has been depleted except in the kingdom of Noctis. Niflheim invades Lucis while an ongoing peace negotiation is being held. Noctis was driven out of the kingdom and is on the run. The crown prince is planning to rescue his kingdom and the crystals. Lucis is being protected by a crystal being held by Nocti's father, King Regis.
With the help of the crystal, King Regis created a magical barrier to help protect Lucis, but the spell is consuming the King's health. The weakened state of the King puts all of them in a jeopardized position, while the Niflheim forces are determined to get Lucis, as reported by IGN.
"Final Fantasy XV" King Regis and Noctis also share similar abilities, including the ability to conjure weapons out of thin air. When the armed forces of Niflheim finally attack Lucis, Crown Prince Noctis and his comrades must fend for themselves.
"Final Fantasy XV" female protagonist of the game, Lunafreya, was also introduced during the presentation. She is a young but highly revered Oracle, who has the ability to commune with the gods, and lives in Tenebrae. Without revealing too much, Luna is said to have been betrothed to Noctis when they were children, Square Enix reported.
Finally, Gentiana, a mysterious raven-haired woman, was also presented. Gentiana, who stands behind Lunafreya, is said to play an important role in the game.
Based on what has been revealed so far, it seems that "Final Fantasy XV" will have a compelling and exciting story that will engage game players.
"Final Fantasy XV" game is scheduled for a 2016 release.
