In "The Big Bang Theory," Kaley Cuoco's character, Penny, has just gotten married. In real life, the actress just announced her divorce from husband, tennis player Ryan Sweeting.
"Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting have mutually decided to end their marriage. They ask for privacy at this time. No further statement will be issued regarding this matter," the actress' representative told E! Online.
The two have been married for only 21 months. In Dec. 31, 2013, Cuoco and Sweeting wed in a lavish ceremony in Santa Susana Mountains near Los Angeles. The actress wore a pink ball gown by Vera Wang, calling the night the "best" one of her life. They have only known each other for three months then.
Last April, Hollywood Life reported that there was trouble in the Cuoco-Sweeting paradise, but the 29-year-old actress quickly slammed the reports. She posted a photo of her husband on Instagram, writing a very sweet caption, "I have never been more proud of anyone on this planet. This guy is fighting back from a whirlwind of injuries and not to mention constant 'conversation' regarding our marriage and basically any daily decision we decide to make. I'm so proud of his passion and his inner strength to fight back, but most of all, i am proud to be his wife."
The said photo is now deleted, along with other pictures of Sweeting. Although the "Big Bang Theory" actress has not yet revealed details of the divorce, her latest post on Instagram could be saying a lot. On the photo is a cute puppy lying on its back with an almost empty glass of wine. She captioned the post saying, "#mood."
Ironically, Cuoco is on the cover of Shape Magazine for this month, where she appeared to have a normal marriage, even saying she piled up on pounds because it's "so much fun" to eat like her husband.
