Hundreds and thousands of iPhone fans have waited in line as early as a day before Apple Stores open their doors to sell the lasts iPhone 6s and 6s plus phones. There are those who are said to have arrived even earlier in line while others have fancier ways of securing their queue.
According to CNBC, the iPhone 6s and 6s plus will be sold in four colors in 12 countries including the U.S., U.K. and China beginning from Friday. In London, a certain Sam Sheikh, was brave enough to endure the London weather as he held his place on the queue since Monday at 9 p.m. London time, 83 hours. He was the first in line. He told CNBC, "I'm a big Apple fan and I wanted to have the rose gold model which I'm desperate for and I heard they have very limited stock."
In Australia, a woman used a different method to secure her place in the line. Instead of physically camping overnight outside the Apple Store, she used a robot. According to Mail Online, Lucy Kelly was able to buy her iPhone 6s from Sydney's Apple store on Friday with the aid of a droid which she controlled from her home. Her robot was reported to have been waiting in line since 5 a.m. Thursday morning. Her phone was then tied to her robot and one of her colleagues made sure that the droid safely got into her car and delivered to her office. "I thought it would be funny to sneak one out and put it in the queue," Ms. Kelly said to Daily Mail Australia.
Despite, the iPhone madness, the tech-giant was not able to meet the expectation that the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus would beat last year's record of 10 million units on its first-weekend, according to CNBC. Moreover, the lines, reportedly were smaller compared to last year since there are those who opted to order their iPhones online. Needless to say, there are still a huge number of people who would be willing to go the extra mile or give the extra effort just to make sure they get their iPhones fresh from the oven.
