Real Estate agents in Melbourne, Australia have a few roll calls to do on the famous, and one of the richest countries in the region. However, if the seller is famous or a celebrity, privacy is always at risk.
Every luxury realty agent has witnessed it all in auctions, from fans, celebrities to rich owners, taking the assurance of security on their own.
According to one suburban agent, a seller was on the look out for strangers during the process of a mansion's open house. Some of them would make their house "not look rich enough." At the same time, a signature on a contract isn't really the only objective. Protection and discretion is also important as the highest probable cost of the property.
In 1990, pop star Kylie Minogue had invested on an estate. On the other hand, tenants checking out the house thourgh the years would not know that the property was owned by the famous singer. William Batters has been working as a rental manager for years now, and he is managing Kylie's office in London.
Also this year the director of Marshall White, Marcus Chiminello, has been liaising Daniel Radcliffe's Toorak apartment. He was able to sell the estate of the Harry Potter actor at $20 million, and the Armadale warehouse conversion of ex-state treasurer Alan Stockdale.
He would always guarantee that the identity of celebrity sellers is discovered during property inspections. Chiminello explained, "Generally speaking - for anyone high profile who requires a level of privacy - it is done by private appointment or prior registration." Chiminello further said, "There is a lot that needs to be monitored and managed during the process -- it is not your everyday home. Most homes that we sell, unbeknown to the majority walking through, do belong to someone high profile, whether they are high profile in sport or business, or whatever their field of profession is, and we often have a lot of personal items removed because they can become a distraction."
