“The Big Bang Theory” Season 9 features about geeky couple Sheldon and Amy after they broke up when Amy, played by Mayim Bialik dumped long-time partner Sheldon, played by Jim Parsons.
In recent episodes, the two were in constant fights including a scene where Sheldon planted a red bra on the things he returned to Amy, just to make her feel jealous. Fans are looking forward to what will happen to their favorite couple.
“There’s kind of two sets of opinions on if Amy were to date--which way we should go,” Bialik said, revealing that she has ideas about what will happen on the couple's relationship, E! News reported. “Some people think we should go super hunky, really against type from what Sheldon is and from what we think of Amy, but part of me also feels like it's OK to keep it a little bit real in that someone like Amy probably would pursue someone—not that attractive people can't be intellectual—but pursue someone in her field, who generally speaking, might not be that concerned with appearance."
“I don’t think we will be seeing Ryan Gosling shirtless or really anyone shirtless. Everyone’s shirts tend to stay on in Amy’s world,” Bialik added with a laugh.
In the event that Sheldon will not end up with Amy, Bialik shared her ideas saying that it would be good to pair Sheldon with someone like Penny (Kailet Cuoco), who just married Leonard in the premiere of the show.
“I don’t know who I would pick for Sheldon. I feel like on the one hand I would love something like the contrast of a Penny type. I think that would be really good for laughs and for comedy. But, as the person who plays Amy that would be hard too. I like that on our show we do show other female scientists besides Amy, and we show different kinds of female scientists,” Bialik said, adding that the scientist-type character of Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) would also be an interesting fit to the personality of Sheldon, Fox News reported.
“The Big Bang Theory” airs Monday nights, 8 p.m. on CBS.
