Following an epic premiere of "The Blacklist" on Oct. 1, Season 3 Episode 2 will feature what will happen to Liz and Red.
Liz (Megan Boone) and Red (James Spader) are on the run for their lives and stakes would be higher than ever as Liz gets to know more about Red's world. The two will struggle to stay alive in an exciting journey for this season.
“Reddington didn’t anticipate this, that Elizabeth Keen would murder someone. While he has resources, he’s on his heels, so that is unique, and I think it also provides us an opportunity to peek behind the curtain,” creator Jon Bokenkamp said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“With Liz, we’re going to go on a journey with Reddington through the criminal world to see where does he sleep, who does he depend upon, what are the resources that he has at his fingertips and what is it like to be a criminal, and also what is it like to be viewed as a criminal by the rest of the world,” Bokenkamp added.
On the previous episode, Liz declared herself as a Russian agent and requested asylum from the U.S. adversary. The Russian embassy isn't thrilled to have a former FBI agent in their ranks especially that she is an accomplice of Red, International Business Times reported.
A teaser for episode 2 reveals that Liz will be put on a plane by the Russians but Red believes she will be killed when the plane takes off and would try to request Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) to stop the convoy to save partner.
To return in this season is Paul Reubens, to play the role of Mr. Vargas. Meanwhile, Bokenkamp defined new character, Mr. Solomon, played by Edi Gathegi as an “incredibly ruthless and is a great bad guy.”
Bokenkamp also promised a very interesting season because it has a storyline which is “very present and very urgent, and that’s something that hasn’t been the case for the first two seasons.”
"The Blacklist" airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on NBC.
