"Cyberpunk 2077" was first announced in 2012 by its game developer, CD Projekt Red. Though the company refused to reveal more details about it, they have finally revealed a tiny bit of information about the upcoming sci-fi action role-playing video game.
"Cyberpunk 2077" is based on "Cyberpunk 2020," a pen-and-paper RPG (role-playing game) developed by Mike Pondsmith. It was released last 1988, however, the upcoming game will be set in a dystopian futuristic world where modern technology continuously degenerates the human society.
Right after announcing "Cyberpunk 2077," the Polish game developer concentrated more on "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," which was finally released last May. The game was a huge success and has sold over six million copies worldwide, mainly because of its vast open world playing field which players truly enjoyed.
"Cyberpunk 2077" game, on the other hand, is said to be 35 percent bigger than "The Witcher 2." It is also said that "The Witcher 3" is bigger than "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" by 20 percent.
"Cyberpunk 2077" is said to be covering a bigger playing field than "The Witcher 3." A report by Game Spot reveals Jose Teixeira, visual effects artist of the game, saying in an interview that, "Cyberpunk is far bigger than anything else that CD Projekt Red has done before ... far, far bigger."
Teixeira also said that the game developers have learned a lot from "The Witcher 3" and has been applying what they have learned to the development of "Cyberpunk 2077."
''The Witcher" helped 'Cyberpunk' quite a bit, because the game got so big and so complex that it really taught us. We really didn't know what was going to happen. If anything, working on 'The Witcher 3' was a really good and often brutal learning experience. 'Cyberpunk' is going to benefit greatly from it. I can almost guarantee it," Teixeira added.
"Cyberpunk 2077" released no further information, but according to speculations, it may arrive sometime in 2017 on the PC platform, IGN reported.
