‘Dragon Quest Heroes’ Review: Pros RTS Gameplay Offers a Refreshing Break; Cons Lackluster Story

"Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below" has been recently launched. This new video game of "Dragon Quest Heroes" is in collaboration of Omega Force and Square Enix.

Twinfinite reports that this new franchise of "Dragon Quest Heroes" is similar to the One Piece: Pirate Warriors and Hyrule Warriors video games, which is set for the Warriors road. Players are "running around a battlefield, offing familiar monsters from the Dragon Quest series as you work your way through a vague story."

The review says that most of the players' time is spent on the battlefield. And having an extensive background in the "Dynasty Warriors" franchise, the critic says that the "Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below" appears to be dull despite its perfect gameplay, mechanics, and controls. The player will be simply hitting square the whole time of the game. In addition, the player has to also spend his time running long distances to find the enemies, since it has been observed that new video game of "Dragon Quest Heroes" is not loaded with thousands of enemies in the battlefield.

Though there are some good points in the "Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below," the overall verdict is narrowed down to 3 pros and 1 con. For the con, aside from being mentioned earlier, enemies are not enough in the battlefield, the game has a lackluster story. As for the positive points, the video game has wonderful and beautiful controls, RPG elements are pleasurable, and most importantly the "RTS gameplay offers a refreshing break from the monotony."

Cinema blend, on the other hand, says that the "game has quite a bit of depth to it." It is not the usual "Dynasty Warrior" gameplay. It is noted that "Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below" allows players to "to engage with a two-tier combat system." This is the new very useful and perfectly functional controls. The game also has a "slick method," which enable players to "to strategically and tactically string together combos using advanced button combinations."

Hearing this review, it seems that Omega Force and Square Enix have done a good job in this new collaborated video game. "Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below" is available for PS4.
