'Godzilla v King Kong' in 2020; Plus Two More Stand Alone Films for Both Giants

Talking about film giants, King Kong and Godzilla is now confirmed to fight on the big screen. On Wednesday, Warner Bros and Legendary made the announcement that the giant gorilla and radioactive giant lizard will be in one cinematic universe on 2020.

According to the Thomas Tull, Legendary's Chief Operations Officer, "Audiences really responded to Godzilla. Today, I'm excited to reveal that film was only the beginning of an epic new entertainment universe." There are three film set for release, "Kong: Skull Island," in 2017, "Godzilla 2" in 2018 and "Godzilla vs. Kong," in 2020.

He further explained "As a lifelong fan of these characters, I've always wanted to see the ultimate showdown, and today we're pleased to be announcing that and more."

In our previous report, The film "Kong: Skull Island," was transferred by Tull to Warner Bros. WB holds the rights to Godzilla. The casts of "Kong: Skull Island," includes Samuel L Jackson, Tom Wilkinson, Brie Larson, Corey Hawkins and Tom Hiddleston. John C. Reilly, while John Gatins and John Borenstein are writing the script, the director will be Jordan Vogt- Roberts. Filming will begin in the early part of 2016.

Before transferring to Warner Bros, Universal Studios set the release date on March 10, 2017 for "Kong:Skull Island," Imax 3D is also part of the big project. From the Legendary's side of the fence, Jon Jashni and Thomas Tull are producing with Mary Parent, and Alex Garcia and Eric MsLeod are the executive producers.
