"Power Rangers" reboot has found the right person to play the role of Black Ranger. Lionsgate has announced through its official Instagram account that Ludi Lin is the newest cast of the team of superheroes.
Movie Web says a day after Lionsgate had announced that Dacre Montgomery will wear the suit of Red Ranger of "Power Ranger," the studio announced the next day the actor that fits the role of Zack aka Black Ranger.
It has been reported that Naomi Scott has signed up for the this reboot project of "Power Rangers" earlier this month. Scott will play the role of Pink Ranger.
It has been noted that early October, there are a handful of actors who auditioned for the role of Black Ranger and Red Rangers. Recognized actors like Daniel Zovatto, Ross Butler and Brian "Sene" Marc had tried out for the role of Zack as Black Ranger. Fortunately, the suit of Zack was give to Ludi Lin,though his name wasn't mentioned in the list of actors who auditioned for the role.
The same went with Dacre Montgomery. His name was never mentioned as a possible candidate of the role in "Power Rangers" reboot, but then the role of Red Ranger was given to him when the announcement was made the other day.
IGNreports that Dean Israelite is going to helm the movie. In an interview with the online mag, Israelite discussed the "Power Ranger" movie scripts. According to him, the reboot will offer a "mature yet still playful take on the classic TV series."
CBC Canada says that Ludi Lin is already in Vancouver now that he signed up with Lionsgate to the role of Zack. Report says that "Lin emigrated to Vancouver with his family during his late teens and later studied theatre at UBC," (and his family is still in the area) he is already based in Beijing where his career as an actor is thriving. Lin "just made his feature film debut in the 'Monster Hunt, which is considered as the biggest movie to hit the box office in China.'
"Power Rangers" is slated for release on January 13, 2017.
